Genetics
Supported by an educational grant from Myriad Genetics
The genetics patient resource area provides current information on aspects of genetic risk for cancer, both from a general and disease specific perspective.

Nutrition
Helpful educational sites that will assist patients and families in estimating their risk for leading cancers, obtaining customized tips for reducing risk, and accessing valuable NCI information on preventive and treatment related aspects of nutrition.

Risk Factors and Screening
In addition to lifestyle and genetic risk factors, environmental risks constitute an important and largely preventable contribution to cancer causation. Up to date information on chemical, infectious, and radiation related risk factors.

Smoking Cessation
Nearly 87% of all lung cancer cases in the U.S. are smoking-related. In 2002 alone, an estimated 154,900 (out of 170,000) Americans will be diagnosed with smoking-related lung cancer.
