Clinical Trials Resource Area - Education

Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) Course in the Responsible Conduct of Research
  • Public course: The CITI public access course in the Responsible Conduct of Research is available without charge to the research community.  This course is designed for learners who are not affiliated with an institution that participates in the CITI program or affiliated with a CITI participating organization that has not yet established a specific RCR curriculum for their learners.
  • Participating site course: The CITI Program is a subscription service providing ethics education to all members of the research community. To participate fully, learners must be affiliated with a CITI participating organization.

Demystifying Clinical Trials
This ONS session provides an overview of the different phases of clinical trials. A comparison of clinical and research aspects of care will be explored. The importance of collecting and documenting accurate research information such as pharmacokinetics, side effects of therapy, and interventions will be discussed. The session will conclude using case scenarios to discuss the impact of clinical research on patients and families. Contact hours: 1.9.

GW Health Sciences Programs
The curriculum focuses on regulatory requirements, ethical issues, processes for product development, the business of clinical research, and scientific method processes for patient care product development.

Human Participant Protections Education for Research Teams
This free, web-based course presents information about the rights and welfare of human participants in research. The two-hour tutorial is designed for those involved in conducting research involving human participants. It satisfies the NIH human subjects training requirement for obtaining Federal Funds. You will have the option of printing a certificate of completion from your computer upon completing the course.

MGH Institute of Health Professions
MGH Institute offers two graduate-level curricula: Master of Science in Clinical Investigation and Certificate of Advanced Study in Clinical Investigation.

NCI Clinical Trials Education Series
The Clinical Trial Education Series is designed for patients with cancer, health professionals, and the general public.

University of California, San Diego Extension
The University of California, San Diego Extension offers a specialized certificate in clinical trials administration.
