Excellence in Nursing Informatics Award (EC09)


Award:
Monetary award of $1000 and a plaque.

Purpose: To recognize and support excellence in the emerging field of oncology nursing informatics leading to enhanced quality cancer care.

Nominee's Eligibility Criteria: The candidate must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a registered professional nurse and an active ONS member
  • Have a minimum of two years experience in the field of nursing informatics

Criteria: The scoring criteria for judging this nomination packet is as follows:

  • Candidate develops or uses information systems that enhance the clinical practice, administrative, research, or education initiatives of oncology nurses.
  • Candidate is a recognized expert in the field of nursing informatics (e.g., through publications, presentations, research, peer review activities).
  • Candidate serves as a role model for other oncology nurses in using information technology and assists them in doing so.

This award will not be offered in 2010.
